Research Notes on the Houseworth Family:
By D. Jacoby with research help from B. MacPherson:
[Darlieanne Jacoby] "My gggrandparents were Frederick and Ursula Scribner HOUSEWORTH.
Both were born in Ohio, but I haven't yet determined their parents. They did
have a daughter Elizabeth "Libby" who married Samuel Patton on 29 Aug 1868.
Frederick and Ursula were married in Delaware County, Ohio on 7 Jan 1839 and they lived in Marlborough Twp., Delaware Co., OH. There is an Israel
Houseworth who lived close to Frederick (with Solomon Houseworth) and is the right age to be his father. Frederick died
about 1864, and after his death, Ursula moved to Waldo. She is buried in the Waldo Cemetery
and the name on her tombstone is written "Urailla." I have a table that she
had in her home and gave to her youngest daughter Amanda. Amanda then passed
it on to her daughter Mabel, my grandmother.
Ursula's father may
have been John Scribner since I have eliminated all Scribners I have found except
for him. History says that he had a lot of children."
